F2290-004-01: If Form 2290, Part I, Line 5 has a non-zero value, then Form 2290, Part I, Line 4 must not be less than Form 2290, Part I, Line 5.

How to fix F2290-004-01

  1. Open the return and go to the Credits step.
  2. Review the credit amount and the VIN(s) it's claimed against.
  3. Correct or remove the affected credit.
  4. Return to this filing, review it, and submit again.
